LMS naming conventions

Please note the following:

  • Course shell IDs may contain numbers and letters, dash “-“, underscore “_”, or period “.”. •
  • Course shell IDs should NOT contain any spaces.
  • AY = Academic Year
  • Term is designated by: 10 = Spring, 60 = Summer, 80 = Fall.

 

Course Reserves SIS ID

SIS ID created by IT to link the Library Course Reserves reading list to the Canvas course development shell.

Development Course Shell

Course development shell (for-credit or non-credit) that is not associated with a live Banner course section and is NOT being used as a Base or Foundational course.

ID  Dev.UserID-Course#.AYTerm

*User name should be a unique ID that is the first part of a faculty/staff's KSU email address.
**Cross-listed courses should use a dash and list the lower level number first.

Course shell used for collecting, organizing, and sharing resources to support a college, school, program, course, or other academic unit.
